Smile Hero: Moussa
Moussa, a brave Cameroonian, embarked on a journey to Spain in search of a new start, facing a series of challenges along the way. Looking for a job and opening a bank account became his main obstacles. Although he managed to find work as a waiter and share a flat with African friends, high bank charges were making his life miserable. As the sole breadwinner for his family in Cameroon, Moussa was frustrated by the excessive costs of sending money abroad.
One day, however, he discovered a solution that would change his life completely. Moussa learned that he could get lifetime discounts on all his international online transfers by simply opening a Current Account with Moneytrans. This revelation came as a huge relief to him. Now, he can save €1 on every transfer he makes and use his Mastercard anywhere in the world. Thanks to Moneytrans, Moussa has found an easier and cheaper way to support his family and enjoy his life in Spain without financial worries.
"When the Smile Account came out in 2021, he told me about it, and said that it was convenient for me as I send money every month and this would allow me to send the same for less money"
How did you find out about the account and what do you think of it?
Since I came to live in Spain I send money to my family in Cameroon. In my neighbourhood there is a callshop where the owner is from Cameroon and we have become friends. It is my place of trust.
When the Smile Account came out in 2021, he told me about it, and said that it was convenient for me as I send money every month and this would allow me to send the same for less money and I could also have a free Mastercard debit card.
"If with Moneytrans, my money arrived safely at home, why not keep my own money in their account? "
Why Moneytrans?
Because it is a company that has always been dedicated to sending money abroad, and it gives me confidence that companies that are focused on migrants can hold my money.
If with Moneytrans, my money arrived safely at home, why not keep my own money in their account?
What about the future?
It took me a while to start here from scratch, but now that I have friends, a job and a life here, I think I will stay for a long time. My dream was always to live in Europe, and now I am fulfilling it.
What would you say to someone in your situation?
I would tell them that you have to work hard, that life is difficult, and new beginnings are always difficult, but in the end, with hard work and effort, it’s worth it. Besides, there are always good people who help you, like my friend at the phone booth.
